A key topic for systems thinking in chemistry education is energy storage. The following provides a series of infographics around the ‘battle of batteries’, which links to redox chemistry, the latest advances in battery technology, and sustainable energy supply and storage.
The teaching resources were prepared by undergraduate students in the School of Life and Environmental Sciences, Deakin University. We’d like to thank Paniz Aghajani, Samuel McConnell, Thanh Van Tran and Cassie Yardley for preparing this fantastic resource!
- Introduction – Energy sources and battery evolution
- Types of batteries and batteries going forward
- Impact of batteries and their chemistry
- Making renewable energy reliable and safe
The students based these resources on their readings, which are provided below.
